Day 1 of Arrival of YB Shuya Tsuchiya

The emceeing thing yesterday was a blast!! Mr Gan BK recognised my talent (whatever....) and said
"Thank you John..."
Then continued his speech. Wait. He did say thank you John right? Many people thought he called me something else. What the heck. But before that Mr Khaw was kind of impatient towards the end of the his speech and did not allow the translator/teacher of Hokuryo to translate his sentence as he chopped in the middle of her translation and said thank you.

Then after all the hoohah and ceremonies, we finally get to know each other in the badminton hall. Walked through the throngs of Hokuryo and Sri Gardeners and went searching for the YB. Damn friendly guy. Saw him amongst his two buddies sitting down. These oh-so-polite people offered me their egg sandwiches. But I did not accept. After all, they are guests. Chatty mood and atmosphere coming into play. They were great people. Seriously.

After making a series of gestures and waves and broken up phrases in sentences, I had managed to convince him to stay with his buddies in the school hall after I brought him out of the badminton hall. Then I went along to help the prefects to take groups of students to the classrooms to have fun with the students (SSGers) in it. Kist asked whether I was busy flirting with her friend (Isabell) and I did not know what to say....

Met this Japanese girl Yuka Kimura in that group. Nice person. Then we (Mugen and I) left them in a class (form 2E??) full of hooligans. But not without getting a snide remark made by Mr Iskhandar in the corridor:
"Taking advantage of them (Yuka and her friend...another girl...) huh?"
What could I do?? I was at the back of that group while Mugen was in front of the group chatting with the guys....(like he was helpless to do so...)
But the girls were nice all the same. That was why I felt so mean when I left them alone to fend for themselves in a vile classroom. (ok...I was stereotyping back then. But what could I do? They all acted like what I predicted i.e. wild and unruly.) Managed to pass the message that they should remain in the classrooms until called out and we (Mugen and I) were leaving them there through Yuka who let me use that nifty electronic translator which they all had with them.

Canteen food was much better that day...(duh! the Japanese students were there...) and che and I had coupons...so we got them free!!! And then we went back to the hall for the "handing-over" ceremony...that was a stupid name for a ceremony...its like the police were handing over convicts to transferred prisons...

Left the hall with Shuya and sis. Met many peeps on the way who exclaimed over the guy...(Sui Yee, some primary school kids who were jealous of me having Shuya...and many more..)
Met Yuka (again..) and told her to enjoy time with her host...what a nice guy I am...
That guy's luggage was like rocks...heavy shit.
He was sooo polite about removing his blazer. Wow. I did not realise how polite he could be until this morning...

He showed me his sketch book in the house and it said that he would like to be a nursery teacher. That seemed to explain itself i.e. how the primary kids got attracted to him...
He liked to draw and wanted to make a little sketch of us.

Went to Aquaria at 3.00. Met Wei Li and Michiro there. Saw the sights. Looks like Aquaria is not really Aquaria. It had some jungle stuff too. The guys were fascinated. Nice scorpions...

They liked the big fishes....nice. Then we all walked to Kinokuniya to lookie at some bookies. Mostly manga anyway. They were all in Chinese Mandarin characters that they could not read them. Oh well...

Took Shuya to Petaling Street a.k.a. Chinatown. Freaking kitanai.(dirty) But before that we took him to the Hindu and Buddhist temples. Then after the dirty streets of Petaling we went to eat some chinese food. He does not like curry and squid. Checked. No squid. He likes cucumbers. Checked.

We went to the Eye On Malaysia. At first he was quite apprehensive and feigned shaking legs and fainting spells. But he went anyway after much forcefulness on my part....hehe.
It was nice. German and Swiss technology rocks. Shuya was always worried about accidents. We went home and slept at 12.30am.

Today was another episode which I might be able to type out tomorrow.
